Man, 84, dies in car crash

Drivers on Sandyhurst Lane must cross the A20 to access Godinton Lane

An 84-year-old man has died in a car crash near Ashford in Kent, according to police.

Kent Police said a black Nissan Qashqai was travelling along Sandyhurst Lane at about 10:55 GMT on Tuesday before crossing the A20 towards Godinton Lane.

It then collided with a white Audi A3 which was travelling on the A20 towards Maidstone, the force said.

The two people in the Nissan were taken to hospital, where the driver, an 84-year-old man, later died.

The driver of the Audi was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Kent Police is asking anyone who saw the crash to come forward.
