Snow Patrol have been announced as headliners for a forest gig taking place in Staffordshire this summer.

The Northern Irish indie-rock band, best known for their hits Chasing Cars and Run, will be performing at Cannock Chase on 26 June.

The gig is one of several Forest Live events taking place in woodland settings around the country, organised by Forestry England.

Snow Patrol already have sold out dates for performances at Delamere Forest in Cheshire and Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire.

The band's debut album Final Straw, released in 2003, went five times platinum and the group has gone on to win seven Meteor Ireland Music Awards as well as an Ivor Novello award.

Last year they released their latest album - aptly titled The Forest Is The Path.

Forestry England said more than two million people have enjoyed its Forest Live gigs since they began more than 20 years ago.

Money from the gigs goes towards maintaining the forests as well as running conservation projects.

Other big-name artists announced to perform at Forest Live gigs in 2025 include Sting, Gary Barlow, McFly, Busted, Blossoms and Elbow.

Tickets for Snow Patrol's Cannock Chase gig will go on sale at 09:00 GMT on 24 January.
