A teenage boy has been left with life-threatening injuries after a road traffic collision in West Yorkshire in the early hours of Tuesday.

The crash happened on Oldham Road in Rishworth, in Calderdale, shortly before 01:00 GMT.

Police said a black Vauxhall Corsa carrying six people, which had been travelling from Junction 22 of the M62 towards Rishworth, had left the carriageway.

The five others in the car suffered minor injuries, with three of those still being treated in hospital, according to officers.

All five have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
