A teenage boy has been arrested after a video was released on social media showing a York City football fan being attacked in the toilets of the club's stadium.
The video of the incident, which police said took place at York Community Stadium on 20 July, shows a young male being repeatedly punched in the face by another male.
Following the attack, which took place at a pre-season game against Grimsby Town FC, the victim is seen to leave the toilets while others laugh at him.
North Yorkshire Police said a teenage boy arrested on suspicion of assault, and a second suspect interviewed in connection with the attack, had both been released on bail.
In a statement York City FC said it was "fully aware" of a video circulating on social media.
The club said the incident was dealt with on the day of the game and it was "reassured" a police investigation was taking place.
A spokesperson added: "Appropriate sanctions will be handed out once the active police investigation into this case has concluded."
North Yorkshire Police has appealed for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
The force has also asked people not to share the footage further and to "avoid speculating about the incident" while an investigation takes place.
