About 68 children from 17 schools across Hastings will compete to be local mini golf champions.

The competition takes place on Wednesday across three courses on the seafront.

The winning school will receive an engraved shield, presented by pro mini golfer and World Crazy Golf Championships competitor Paul Tutt.

Simon Tompkins, director of Hastings Adventure Miniature Golf, said: "The tournament gives children a chance to represent their school, compete in a fun environment, and celebrate their recent academic achievements — all while developing confidence and focus."

Secondary school students from Ark Alexandra Academy will act as official scorers and co-referees for the primary school children.

Mr Tomkins said: "Seeing schools come together for some friendly rivalry really shows the strength of local spirit here in Hastings.

"The way the kids light up when they hit a tricky shot or cheer on their classmates — that's what makes all the planning worth it.

"Most importantly, we want every child to feel included, encouraged, and celebrated for taking part."
