Murder accused pair in court after pensioner death

A man and woman have appeared in court charged with the murder of a pensioner.

North Yorkshire Police were called to a property in Whitethorn Close, Huntington, York, where the body of 72-year-old Michael Bradley was discovered on 5 November.

Jason Holdgate, 32, of Whitethorn Close, and Nicola Anne Beck, 42, of no fixed abode, were also charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

The pair did not enter a plea and were remanded in custody at Leeds Crown Court to appear again on 13 December.

A trial date has provisionally been set for 27 May next year.
