The plans focus on land at Parsonage Farm, Stansted

A field could be transformed into three football pitches to give a club a new home.

Plans have been submitted to Uttlesford District Council for the project north of the M11 Business Link at Stansted, Essex.

The application has been submitted on behalf of Elsenham Youth FC.

A car park, storage and perimeter fencing to halt any wayward footballs have been included in the application, at land off Parsonage Lane.

The club said its current pitches near Stansted Airport were "of poor quality, lacking effective draining" and had weak security.

"The proposed development will provide significantly improved facilities for the enjoyment of Elsenham Youth Football Club," the application stated.

"The scheme will provide all-year-round access to sporting facilities in a safe and secure environment."

It added there would not be any adverse impact on the natural or historic environment.
