Two people were taken to hospital after a collision involving a car and two mopeds.

A section of Wherstead Road in Ipswich was blocked for about an hour after the incident at about 16:30 GMT.

Eyewitnesses told the BBC that at least four ambulances and two police cars were at the scene and a man with injuries was treated in the middle of the road.

"It is a nasty little scene," said one nearby resident at the time.

Wherstead Road is a usually busy route into the town centre. Ipswich Town were due to host Crystal Palace in the Premier League at 19:30.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said two patients were taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment.
