A former police officer has been jailed after he had sex with a teenage girl who was the alleged victim of a crime.
PC Jonathan Fallon, of Thames Valley Police, pleaded guilty to police corruption at Luton Crown Court on 5 February 2025. He was dismissed from the force in March for breaching standards of police behaviour.
On Monday, the 22-year-old from Rushden, Northamptonshire, was sentenced to 16 months in prison and given a restraining order.
Deputy Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police, Ben Snuggs, said: "Former PC Jonathan Fallon betrayed the trust a victim of crime put in him, and abused his position of authority."
Fallon had been working as a police officer for two years at the time of the incident and had been based at Milton Keynes.
According to his misconduct report, external, he met the 17-year-old girl in July 2023 while investigating reports she had received inappropriate messages from an older man at a school where she did volunteer work.
She and Fallon exchanged phone numbers and social media details, and in October the two began messaging each other on Snapchat.
Shortly afterwards, Fallon paid for a hotel in Nottingham where the two had sex.
The next day, he told her they had to stop seeing each other and keep their relationship a secret to protect his job.
The teenager then withdrew her initial case as she did not feel it appropriate the investigating officer had committed the same behaviour, the misconduct report said.
Fallon was arrested on 23 February 2024 and was charged on 28 October 2024.
DCC Snuggs said Fallon's actions "fell far below the high standards we expect, undermined public confidence and let down his colleagues".
"I am very clear that there is no place in the force for officers who behave like this," he added.
"His name has also been placed on the barred list, which means he will never be able to work in policing again."
