Police appeal after motorcyclist dies in crash

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Derbyshire.

Officers were called to Wirksworth Road, near the junction of Calladine Lane, Shottle, near Belper, at 09:37 GMT on Thursday.

The force said the rider of the bike, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, and his family had been made aware.

Police want to speak to anyone who was driving on Wirksworth Road and saw a green Kawasaki motorcyle, riding from Wirksworth, towards Duffield, between roughly 09:20 and 09:35.
