A girl is receiving treatment for a serious leg injury after she was hit by a car outside her high school.
The teenager, a pupil at Northgate High School in Dereham, Norfolk, was struck by a grey Peugeot 308 at 15:15 GMT on Thursday.
The school said she was taken to hospital and it was working with authorities to ensure "all necessary measures are taken".
Police said its officers were keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident.
"Our thoughts and best wishes for a speedy recovery are with her and her family," the heads of school, Zoe Galley and Duncan Hone, said in a statement.
"We thank our staff, and a local resident, for their swift response and our pupils for their mature approach and co-operation during and after this incident.
"The safety and well-being of our pupils remain our top priority and we will be reinforcing education around road safety when travelling home."
