Bin workers ill after touching 'hazardous substance'

South Central Ambulance Service took two people to hospital after they fell ill in Romsey

Three refuse workers have fallen ill after coming into contact with a "potentially hazardous substance".

They were suffering with headaches and severe nausea when ambulances, police and fire crews were called to Belbins Business Park in Romsey, Hampshire, shortly before 09:00 BST.

Following treatment, two were taken to hospital while the other was discharged from the paramedics' care.

South Central Ambulance Service said the substance that caused the sickness was unknown. Emergency services left the scene at 10:52.
