An attack by seven men on a 16-year-old boy in a Brighton park has sparked an appeal for witnesses by police.

Officers were called to the incident at The Level in Lewes Road, Brighton, at 21:10 BST on 7 September.

A group of seven men had approached the teenager, stolen his phone and attacked him, causing minor injuries, Sussex Police said.

Another 16-year-old boy was also threatened and had his phone stolen, the force said.

“It is believed a dog walker and a woman saw the incident and we are appealing for them to get in contact with police,” a police spokesperson said.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information is urged to contact the force.
