A student police officer has been charged with the sexual assault of a 17-year-old.

Jake Wilson, 23, of Thames Valley Police, was arrested on 30 January and charged with one count of sexual assault on Thursday.

A spokesperson for the force said: "The charge relates to an allegation that Wilson sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl in Milton Keynes, whilst off-duty, in December, last year."

Mr Wilson is due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on 12 November.

The officer was training in Sulhamstead, Berkshire, but has been suspended since his arrest.
