National Highways said it would be closing eastbound lanes over the Orwell Bridge for inspections

  • Published

Overnight lane closures will be in place over a bridge for five nights to allow for inspections and gully drain cover repairs.

National Highways has spent more than a month repairing two expansion joints on the Orwell Bridge, on the A14, near Ipswich.

While the main works have finished, the highways agency said lane closures would be in place on the eastbound carriageway from Monday to Friday between 20:00 and 06:00 BST.

The bridge would remain fully open in both directions during the day, however.
