Taylor Swift fans have given us a lift, says airport

Taylor Swift ended the European leg of her Eras tour in London on Tuesday

An airport has said Taylor Swift fans from the UK boosted passengers numbers as they flew to Europe to catch one of the superstar's Eras Tour concerts.

Luton Airport reported the number of passengers flying to Paris between 5 May and 12 May jumped by 35%, as the star kicked off the European leg of her tour in the French capital.

The airport said flights to Lisbon, Dublin, Amsterdam, Zurich, Milan and Warsaw were also busier.

When Swift was scheduled to perform, the number of passengers heading to those locations went up by 5% compared to the week before.

In the week following her performances, said the airport, passenger numbers dipped by 2%.

Clare Armstrong, the airport's head of guest experience, said: "We are delighted that London Luton Airport was the chosen starting point for so many Swifties heading to her European tour destinations during this summer."

The pop star finished a run of eight concerts at Wembley Stadium in London on Tuesday, breaking the record for the number of shows at the venue by a solo singer in a single tour.
