Man taken to hospital after being hit by car

A man was seriously injured when he was hit by a car in a Derbyshire town.

Police said the pedestrian, in his 60s, was struck in Bridge Street, Buxton, at 14:55 GMT on Monday.

Officers closed the road until 16:30 and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.

The force said his injuries were serious but understood not to be life-threatening or life-changing.
