Three in court over stabbing in shopping street

Three people have appeared in court charged with attempted murder following the stabbing of a teenage boy on a town's main shopping street.

The attack happened at the junction of Abington Street and Fish Street in Northampton at about 17:10 BST on Monday. The 17-year-old remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Hamza Zaki Sharif, 23, of Simons Walk, Northampton, and two boys aged 16 and 17, appeared at Northampton Magistrates' Court on Thursday, having also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

They were remanded in custody and will attend Northampton Crown Court on 3 July.
