Arrest after report of rape in Harrow-on the Hill

A man has been arrested after a woman said she had been raped in north-west London on Saturday evening.

The Metropolitan Police were called at 23:45 GMT to reports of an attack on Church Hill, near the high street close to Harrow School, Harrow-on the Hill.

Officers attended the scene and have since been providing the woman with specialist support, the Met said.

The force has added that a male detained on Monday in connection with the incident remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.

Det Sgt Phil Inman said: "We know this will cause of lot of concern and anxiety in the area, especially as the attack took place in close proximity to the high street."

He has appealed for CCTV images, dashcam footage taken between 22:00-00:00 GMT around St Mary’s Church, Churchfields Open Space and Grove Open Space to help with the investigation.
