Three men were injured - two seriously - in a crash involving a bus and a pedicab in central London early on Monday.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service crews attended following reports of a collision at the junction of Charing Cross Road and Phoenix Street shortly after 01:00 BST.

Police said three men were treated at the scene and taken to hospital.

One man with minor injuries was discharged but two others, aged 23 and 25, are seriously injured and remain in hospital, the force added.

A Transport for London spokesperson said: "Our thoughts are with those involved in a collision that took place between a pedicab and a N19 bus along Charing Cross Road in the early hours of the Monday 25 August.

"There is currently an ongoing investigation into the incident that is being led by the Met Police."
