Some council services have been temporarily relocated to a library while its main offices are refurbished.

Residents who need to speak to Somerset Council in person will be able to do so at Williton Library from Thursday.

The council said its library, customer service point and children's centre will move back to West Somerset House after the upgrade in March.

Councillor Federica Smith-Roberts said the refurbishment of West Somerset House would provide people with "a modern place" to access council services.

While operating in the library, the customer service point will be open every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00-13:00 GMT and 14:00-17:00 GMT, the council said.

"We're pleased to be bringing our services in Williton to one place," Ms Smith-Roberts said.

"Our customer access points (Caps) provide assisted digital access to our online services."

"There will be support available to residents to use our online services."

The refurbishment is expected to last for 10 weeks.
