A woman has been found guilty of murdering a young grandfather in a dispute over stolen drugs.

Gavin Hubbard, 42, was fatally knifed at his home in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, on 19 May.

County lines drug dealer Tuche Coskun, 22, of Central Avenue, Enfield, north London was found guilty after a two-week trial at St Albans Crown Court.

She is set to be sentenced on 16 January at the same court.

The jury heard Coskun supplied heroin and cocaine, and that Mr Hubbard had admitted stealing drugs from her.

George Carter-Stephenson KC, defending, told the jury how Coskun had fallen into drug dealing after losing her job at a warehouse, and wanted to help her mother.

She had pleaded not guilty to murder, claiming she was acting in self-defence, but the jury returned a unanimous guilty verdict.

She was cleared of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Ahead of the trial, Coskun admitted two counts of being in possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

On the day of the murder, emergency services were called to an address in Linkfield just before 03:00 BST.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, Mr Hubbard died at the scene.

Det Insp Justine Jenkins said: "Firstly, I would like to extend my sympathy to the family of Gavin Hubbard who sadly lost his life in this incident.

“This was a challenging investigation, and I am grateful to the jury for reaching their verdict on this case."
