A cathedral is being transformed into a canvas as a light and sound show returns for a third year.

Durham Cathedral is being lit up with colourful projections, including original footage of a rocket launch, galaxies and stars.

The theme of Luxmuralis is Space and for the first time the show is also illuminating the exterior of the building.

It has been touring cathedrals in England and Durham Cathedral first hosted it in 2022. The event runs until Sunday.
