Two more murder arrests over alleyway stabbing

Police have arrested two more people after a man was fatally stabbed last month.

Thapelo Jali, 21, was found with serious injuries in an alley off Buccleuch Road, Normacot, on 22 July and he died at the scene.

Staffordshire Police said on Tuesday they had arrested two men from Stoke-on-Trent, aged 27 and 25, on suspicion of murder.

Five other men have been charged over the death so far.

Ezaan Hussain, Tuheed Hussain, Tayyab Hussain, and Zubair Hussain, all from Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, were charged with murder last month.

Hakim Mohammed, 22, from Normacot, was also later charged with murder and possession of a knife or sharp pointed article in a public place.

The five men are due to appear at Stafford Crown Court on 11 October.

Another man, aged 50 and from Stoke-on-Trent, was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, but has since been released on police bail.
