Three men have appeared in court after police recovered cocaine with an estimated street value of £5m from a vehicle on the A1(M) and a house in North Yorkshire.

A total of 21kg of cocaine was found when officers stopped a car at Scotch Corner on 30 November, while another 25kg was found in the search of a house in Easingwold, police said.

Cy Suddick, 31, and Oliver Duncan, 20, were charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, while Kevin Robinson, 49, was charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

At Leeds Crown Court on Friday, Mr Suddick and Mr Robinson were remanded in custody until a plea hearing on 7 March, while Mr Duncan was granted conditional bail.

A date was set for their trial to start at the same court on 2 June.

The three men were arrested in a joint operation involving the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit, West Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Police.

Mr Suddick, of Henfield Way, Easingwold, and Mr Robinson, of Roby, Merseyside, appeared at court via videolink, while Mr Duncan, also of Roby, was ordered to appear in person.

Judge Richard Mansell granted Mr Duncan's bail application after a short hearing.

The court heard that he would have to adhere to several conditions, including a curfew and an agreement that he surrender all travel documentation.
