Free Christmas parking offered in four towns
- Published
Motorists can park for free at certain times in four Devon car parks in a bid to give businesses a boost at Christmas, a council says.
The aim was to "offer support to the high streets" of Chagford, Hatherleigh, Okehampton and Tavistock, West Devon Borough Council said.
Lead member for communities, councillor Adam Bridgewater, said: "Christmas is such a magical time, particularly in west Devon.
"This parking offer gives a little extra time to enjoy choosing bespoke and individual gifts for your loved ones, enjoy some refreshments and take advantage of the many events on offer which our hard-working town councils and community groups have organised."
The dates and times are:
Chagford: From 15:00 GMT on Thursdays and Fridays in December.
From 17:00 on Tuesday 10 December.
Hatherleigh: From 15:00 on Thursdays and Fridays in December.
Okehampton: From 15:00 on Thursdays and Fridays in December (Mill Road only).
Tavistock: From 15:00 on Thursdays and Fridays in December (not Guildhall).
All day on Saturday 14 December.
