A man has died after his car plunged off a bridge and landed on a motorway below in Surrey, police said.

The vehicle left the A325 carriageway around the Ravenswood Roundabout in Camberley at about 17:25 BST on Tuesday.

It hit a concrete barrier and then fell from a bridge before landing on the southbound carriageway of the M3 near junction four.

The driver, a man aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene, Surrey Police said.

The slip road of the A325 and the southbound M3 were closed for several hours.

Surrey Police appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or helmet cam footage to come forward.

Officers particularly want to trace the movements of a black BMW i3 prior to the collision.
