Apprenticeship event to take place

An event is taking place to raise awareness of the different apprenticeships on offer for people in East Yorkshire.
It will be a chance for prospective apprentices to meet with different businesses in the area.
The event is set to take place on 27 November at Bishop Burton College.
East Riding councillor Victoria Aitken said: “This is a fantastic event for our young people to find out more about the apprenticeships on offer locally."
Over 30 businesses which offer placements will be at the event including Civil Service Careers, the Royal Navy and Northern Powergrid.
There will also be a chance to speak to services that help young people find apprenticeships like local authority SEND teams and Job Centre Plus.
Aitken said Bishop Burton College were expecting around 1,000 young people to attend.
Apprenticeships are a form of employment combining education and work placement.
They are open to anyone over 16 and can last one to five years depending on the qualification gained at the end
For the first time, the event is open to the public between 16:00 and 18:00 BST for adults considering apprenticeships.
