Four people have been taken to hospital after a car left the road in the Peak District.

Police was called to the A6 southbound near the Whaley Bridge roundabout in Derbyshire at about 07:05 BST on Wednesday, after a red Vauxhall Corsa crashed into the central reservation.

The car left the carriageway, coming to a stop in bushes at the side of the road, according to Derbyshire Police.

A spokesperson said four people in the car were taken to hospital and none of their injuries were believed to be life-threatening.

The road was closed for several hours but has since re-opened, the force added.
