More than 250 cannabis plants seized from an abandoned property have been destroyed, said police.

No arrests have been made, but investigations are continuing following the raid on a building on Withyridge Gardens in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, on Monday.

Gloucestershire Police found a total of 258 plants, along with related paraphernalia.

Sgt Lucy Winterburn said: “It is thanks to information from the public that we were able to carry out these actions which disrupt drug activity in our area."

“The people growing these drugs are exploiting the vulnerable and creating fear and misery in our communities.

“We will continue to do all we can to stop these criminals and bring them to justice.

"I would urge anyone with information to continue to speak to us and report any concerns so we can take the appropriate action," she added.
