Housing, long-term care and budgeting are among the issues concerning islanders, a deputy has said after an event hosted by Citizens Advice Jersey.

The pop-up event on Saturday at St Brelade Parish Hall was the latest in an island-wide tour run by the charity.

A team offered independent advice on a number of financial, housing and employment issues.

Deputy Helen Miles said housing, long-term care and budgeting made up the "vast majority" of issues discussed by islanders.

Deputy Helen Miles praised the event as a "really excellent initiative"

Miles praised the charity's efforts to visit every parish as a "really excellent initiative".

"Citizen's Advice are normally are based in town at St Paul's Centre, so it is nice that they're coming out and really engaging with the community," she said.

Citizens Advice Jersey said: "Our main goal is to be there to offer islanders and our island community support and advice.

"We give people the knowledge and confidence they need to find their way forward, whoever they are and whatever their problem."
