Four men have been arrested after police found drugs and a suspected imitation firearm in a stop and search.

Surrey Police said the arrests were made during officer patrols of crime hotspots in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The four have been bailed pending further investigation, police said.

Three men next to a vehicle in Station Approach Road, Tadworth, were approached by police, but one fled the scene.

Police said: "The remaining two, as well as a further two inside the vehicle, were detained for searches, and officers found a bag containing Class A and Class B drugs, as well as what is believed to have been an imitation firearm."

The four men, in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs and on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
