A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Leicester.

Police were called to Narborough Road at about 15:50 BST by paramedics who were treating the man who had been found with stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment, police said.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Leicestershire Police said officers closed Narborough Road, between Stuart Street and Wolverton Road, while investigations took place.

The force added detectives were speaking to a number of witnesses as they investigated the full circumstances of the stabbing.

Det Insp Leigh Rowlson said: "We are carrying out a number of inquiries into this incident to establish what has happened and how this has happened."
