Plans to replace a former ambulance station with a block of apartments have been put forward.

The building on Queen's Road in Newark, Nottinghamshire, has been empty since East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) moved out in January 2024.

According to planning documents, EMAS moved across the road to share a building with Nottinghamshire Police.

Developers want to demolish the existing building and build a four-storey block containing 22 apartments.

If approved, the new building will comprise a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

The application will be considered by Newark and Sherwood District Council at a future date.
