Two men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent after another man was found with serious injuries in Shirebrook.

Derbyshire Police said it was made aware a man had been admitted to hospital on Saturday after an incident in or around The Gate Inn pub on King Edward Street earlier in the evening.

The force added it was still trying to establish how the man came to be injured and was aware of a video circulating on social media - but urged people not to share it and send it directly to police.

One man, 22, has since been bailed, while a 20-year-old man remains in custody.

Police are appealing for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the Main Street area of Shirebrook to come forward.
