Three 16-year-old boys have been arrested following a report of a fight outside a supermarket in Nottingham.

Officers were called to the Co-op in Beckhampton Road, in Bestwood, shortly before 17:30 GMT on Sunday after a report of a group fight with weapons.

Nottinghamshire Police said suspects fled the scene, but three 16-year-old boys were later detained on suspicion of affray.

One of the boys was treated in hospital for a minor hand injury before being taken into custody for questioning, the force said. No other injuries were reported.

Police added inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Det Sgt James Hirst said: "While we believe this to be an isolated incident, we will be providing an increased police presence in the area to provide the public with some reassurance.

"We are speaking to a number of people in the area, but do ask anyone who has any information to make contact with us if you have not already done so."

Mr Hirst appealed for CCTV, doorbell footage or dashcam footage from the area and anyone with information to contact the force.
