An international horse trial competition has announced that it will not be returning after announcing in June that this year's event had been cancelled.
Nunney International Horse Trials usually takes place at Southfield House in Whatley, Somerset, in mid-June.
Earlier this year, it announced that 2025's three-day event was cancelled due to "insufficient entries", meaning the event was not financially viable.
In a statement - the event's organisers have now said it was "with further regret and sadness that we have had to make the tough decision to remove Nunney International Horse Trials from the eventing calendar permanently".
It went on to say, "the fixture date is too crowded and our national and international entries were way below expectations this year".
"Nunney has meant so much and will be greatly missed by not only competitors of all levels, but also to our wonderful local community who supported us year after year."
The statement also gave thanks to the event's sponsors and to Southfield House's owner, Angela Yeoman, who the committee describes as "exceptional"
The trials at Nunney used to attract a mix of top-level competitors and amateur riders and was a notable event in the riding calendar.
The event was part organised by former Team GB gold medallist at the 1972 Munich Olympics Bridget Parker.
Southfield House will continue to host Pony Club camps.
