A sheep had to be rescued after it fell down a cliff in Devon.

The Beer Coastguard Rescue Team were called to help with the rescue at Peak Hill, near Sidmouth, on Wednesday.

A team from the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service brought the errant animal to the clifftop in a rescue bag.

The sheep escaped and ran off with its rear quarters still encased in the rescue bag but later extricated itself, coastguards said.
