Teen accused of driving off after pedestrian crash

A teenager has been arrested after allegedly colliding with a pedestrian and driving off.

Norfolk Police said it was called to Gapton Hall Road in Great Yarmouth after the collision involving the white Audi at about 17:20 BST on Wednesday.

The teen was held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, failing to report a collision, driving without insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and possession of drugs Class B and C.

The pedestrian, also a teenager, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Sgt Callum Walchester said: "We are in the early stages of what is a complex investigation, and we make a plea to anyone with information to come forward and contact us.

"We are aware that information is being shared in the local community but it is important that people provide their accounts directly to police officers."
