Motorists are being warned of disruption near Newquay as a four-week project to upgrade the gas network gets under way.

Wales & West Utilities said the works on Newquay Road in St Columb Major would be ongoing until 24 October, with traffic management measures in place throughout, including multi-way traffic lights.

There will also be a closure on Trekennig Road, at the junction of Newquay Road and Trekennig Point, until 17 October.

Natalie Raphael, from Wales & West, said it was "essential" to keep gas flowing to nearby homes and businesses and to make sure the gas network was "fit for the future".
