Mountain Road closures for race equipment removal

The road forms part of the course for the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT races

Motorists are being warned to expect daytime closures on a section of the Isle of Man's Mountain Road next week, in order to allow for road racing equipment to be removed.
The works, on the northern stretch of the A18, have been scheduled by the infrastructure department, to allow for the removal of Manx Grand Prix course signage and other related items.
The stretch of road from Ramsey hairpin to the bungalow will close on both Monday and Tuesday, from 09:30 to 16:30 BST.
Signs, barriers and other equipment on the southern section will be removed the following week when a five-week closure for major roadworks between Brandywell and Creg Ny Baa is set to begin.
The roadworks had originally been due to take place in the spring, but were postponed after the department's asphalt plant was temporarily rendered out of action.
They are now scheduled to start on 15 September, and will include the installation of two culverts to improve drainage, as well as resurfacing.

The motorcycling festival concluded on 29 August
The motorcycle event ran for nearly a fortnight, from 17 to 29 August, and saw the Manx Grand Prix take place in parallel with the relaunched Classic TT.
Monday's closure will allow contractors to remove race equipment on behalf of race organisers, the Department for Enterprise.
Emergency access will be maintained at all times across the duration of the works.
