Dog walker seriously injured in bike hit-and-run

Detectives are looking for a biker who wore a distinctive yellow helmet, a grey tracksuit, and a dark-coloured back brace

A dog walker was left seriously injured when he was struck by an off-road bike that was travelling on the wrong side of the road.

The man, in his 40s, was crossing the road in Elder Street, Skegby, Nottinghamshire, when he was hit at 19:24 BST on Sunday 30 July.

Nottinghamshire Police said a person fell from the bike, but got back on and fled the scene.

The victim was left unconscious in the road with a broken leg, fractured eye socket, and a cut to his arm.

'Callous actions'

The dog was unharmed, police added.

The force, which released an appeal over the hit-and-run on Thursday, has studied CCTV footage from the area at the time.

Officers would like to speak to a person seen riding an orange-coloured motorbike – believed to be a KTM.

Police said the rider wore a distinctive yellow helmet, a grey tracksuit, and a dark-coloured back brace.

The force called the hit-and-run a "shocking incident", made worse "by the callous actions of the rider".
