Pedestrian seriously injured in St Ives car crash

A pedestrian has suspected life-changing injuries after being hit by a car, police have said.
They were one of two people, a man and a woman, who were taken to hospital with serious injuries after the incident in Trelyon Avenue, St Ives at about 19:45 BST on Tuesday.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the driver of the car, a 45-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention.
He has been released on bail while inquiries are ongoing.
Trelyon Avenue was closed for about eight hours for investigations.
Police are asking any witnesses to come forward.
