A man was left in a critical condition after being hit by a car on Saturday night, police said.

Officers were called at about 20:35 BST to reports of a collision between a Fiat Punto and a pedestrian in Withersfield Road on the A1307 in Haverhill.

Suffolk Police said a man in his 60s was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.

The force appealed for witnesses or any drivers with dashcam footage from the area to get in touch.
