A search at a property following a report human remains may have been buried there in the 1970s has concluded with no body being found.
The investigation in Wolverton Road, Leicester, also involved an excavation and work from archaeologists, forensics and officers from the East Midlands Special Operation Unit's major crime team.
A property in Dumbleton Avenue was also cordoned off on Saturday 19 July as part of the investigation, however, the crime scene was lifted three days later.
In an update on Friday, Leicestershire Police said the investigation remained ongoing.
An 86-year-old woman who was arrested in connection with the report remains on bail while inquiries continue, the force added.
Det Insp Emma Matts, from the major crime team, said the search was carried out as a "matter of urgency" due to the seriousness of the allegation.
"Arrangements are being made in relation to [the] property at Wolverton Road to return it to its original state following the excavation," she added.
"This is a complex and sensitive investigation and we do thank everyone affected for your patience with us throughout the search."
