Two further arrests have been made in connection with the death of a woman in Gainsborough.

Gillian Connelly, 44, was found with serious injuries in Wheeldon Street on 28 July. She died a short time later.

Lincolnshire Police said a 59-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender on Monday 5 and 19 August, respectively. The woman was released on bail, while the man remains in custody.

Stephanie McLaggan, 37, of North Warren Road, Gainsborough, who is charged with Ms Connelly's murder, is expected to enter a plea at Lincoln Crown Court on 30 September.

Two others, Steven Lowther, 45, and Jade Glover, 28, both of Wheeldon Street, will also appear before the same court, on the same date. Both are charged with perverting the course of justice.

Lincolnshire Police said investigations are ongoing.
