An "out of control" dog has been seized by police after two men and another dog were injured in Midlothian.

A 57-year-old man has been charged with the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 in connection with the incident, which took place on Thursday around 11:30 in the Eskbridge area of Penicuik.

Two men, aged 22 and 33, needed medical treatment for minor injuries while the other dog was taken to a vet for treatment.

The attacking dog was taken to kennels after being found by police at a nearby property.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that a report had been sent to the procurator fiscal regarding the incident.
