Island ferry set to halt for evening repairs

The Isle of Wight's chain ferry is set to be pulled from service for an evening for repairs.
The Floating Bridge, which runs between Cowes and East Cowes, will stop running on Tuesday from 18:00 until 23:00 BST.
Isle of Wight Council said the vessel needed three chain guide wheels replaced.
A launch service will run through the evening for foot passengers and cyclists, with drivers having to make a 12-mile (19km) detour via Newport.
The ferry makes the short crossing across the river Medina Monday to Saturday from 05:00 to 00:30 and Sundays from 06:30 to 00:30 under its normal timetable.
After years of numerous and varied issues with the vessel since it came into service in 2017, Isle of Wight Council has decided to replace the £3.2m ferry.
