Man in court on death by dangerous driving charge

A man has appeared in court charged with causing death by dangerous driving after another man died.
Police were called to the A595 at Bothel, near Aspatria, Cumbria, at about 00:25 BST on Monday, following a crash between a black Toyota RAV and a blue Honda Civic.
A man in his 70s from Wigton died at the scene, Cumbria Constabulary said.
A 33-year-old man from County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, did not enter a plea when he appeared at Carlisle Magistrates' Court, and was released on bail.
He is due to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 2 August.
