A breastfeeding support clinic for new mothers has opened in Jersey.

The clinic is available for mothers with babies less than 28 days old and is especially aimed at those who are struggling to breastfeed.

The appointment-only clinic is run by Health and Community Services midwives who are specialists in infant feeding, the Government of Jersey said.

It runs between 16:00 and 19:00 on Thursdays at The Bridge.

If it proves popular, the clinic may run twice a week.

Mothers can book an appointment for the clinic by calling 01534 449139.

The government said there were plans to offer further antenatal breastfeeding support services later in the spring.
